Mesi dopo la distruzione della Fortezza della solitudine da parte di Lex, Clark è smarrito e senza poteri, schiavo in una nave di contrabbandieri russi.
Tess Mercer, per volere del testamento di Lex, diventa la nuova proprietaria della Luthor Corporation. Il suo obiettivo è quello di ritrovare Lex, che sembra scomparso nel nulla; intanto riesce a mettere le mani sul cristallo della Fortezza della solitudine. In seguito, la Lega della Giustizia (qui composta da Freccia Verde, Aquaman e Black Canary), si dirige nell'Artico per recuperare Clark.
